Funny Stuff...

I chose this cartoon as my favorite because it makes you think that it is very funny. To see someone struggle to get to america and the first thing they do is read the newspaper. They find out the who is in the 2000 campaign and then leave. It makes you wish that Bush never won the presidency and what it would have been like if Gore had won.

My Perfect Candidate

If I were to create my perfect candidate first and for most she would be a woman. I Beleive the women can stand for the eptiome of justice.My candidate would be considered the voice of the people because everyone needs a voice but every can't speak at once. She would be true democrate. Beliefs in government and socialism would be the same as mine. I belive in helping the people more that just helping the nation so my perfect candidate would too.She would stand for these views because she would have known struggle and hardship. My candidate would be able to relate to her voters to ensure that she makes it into office with the majority vote. Her politcal ideology would be liberal. She would want to spend money wisely to help the middle and lower classes of people. Her views on the party platforms for 2000 and 2004 would be that she would allow health care for all. Allow the issues of abortion to be up to the woman thats pregnant. The issue of same sex marriage would be no concern she would just make a bill were you would call it patrnership and not marriage in the eyes of the Lord(religion is key). She would make taxes lower for the middle class and higher for the upper class that could afford it. My candidate would make a great simulus plan for the higher education programs of the nation. College funds would be very helpful in her plan to educate to youth. The no child left behind act would really be put into play if i had my perfect candidate. She would be what everybody looked for and maybe even some of what people hate just like me.

i think that my results really do describe me. i always thought of my self as a democrate because of the views, opinions and family backrounds. Most liberals do have the same thought process that i have.

Privacy

I do believe that it is right for them to pass this law. The dormitories are a public place and someone having sex should be seen as an obscenity. If they felt as if they needed to handle that sort of business in that manner than they should have respect for the other person living in their room. People who do not take in to consideration the right to privacy are not putting themselves in said situtation. More colleges should take this action and put this law to good use.

Should and Killer Be Murdered?

This question brings me back to the question i asked in class last week. I ask if God looks at killing by execution as a violation of one of the 10 commandments that say thou shall not kill. Ludicrous and immoral is the way that the action of murder is looked at so why shouldn't the person who killed be punished? I don't necessaraly disagree with the solution of execution but I don't understand how to look at it from a religious point of view. I do believe that if a person has the courage to kill some one than they should know that their soul is already condemed to hell, so its like they're already dead. As far as cruel and unusual punishment goes, it was cruel and unusual for innocent people to have to die so i think that people on the death penalty are getting exactly what they deserve (if they actually comitted the crime). Execution is the courts way of dealing with it for the people sake. The people who want justice to be served now not on judgement day(if they believe in this). But in my opinion, in God's eyes its already taking care of.

Oh No He Didn't!!! Yeah I Think He Did

As of this week we are examining the fine points of America's Constitution. Obama gave a speech earlier this week and was called a liar by U.S. Rep Joe Wilson. Former President Cater stated that, "The act was based on racism and rooted in fears of a black president". I feel as if he does have a point in what he said because the comment was made by a white male. No one ever voiced that President Bush was a liar when it came to his alligations of weapons of mass destruction even though they all thought he was lying. I dont believe that anything would have been said about President Obama's accidental lies if he were President Obama the 45th white male president of America instead of President Obama the first Black President Of America.

When Kanye West voiced his opinion about who he believed should have won the MTV music award I deemed it ignorant. That complies with my right to free speech just as Kanye exercised his on Sunday night. I don't think they'er questioning his rights at all. All they are doing is using their right to free press and free speech. The media is not handeling the situation in a neutral way because they are all on Taylor Swift's side. They are not taking the 1st amendment into consideration they are looking at morals. No one has came out and said," Well that's just Kanye for you, always doing some out rageous, ignorant, and rude." Thats what I said when I first saw it but to each is own. He is a talented person who needs to find himself again. The media has turned on him and its basically going to turn and bad situation into a worst one.

Ohhhbama!!!

On September 8 2009 the president addressed the students of america. Obama's goal was to speak to the young people and get their attention about why they should stay focused in school. I believe that the president did reach his goal to those who were allowed to watch the broadcast. Most of the teens today our for President Obama so they will tend to listen. It was a monumental monment because no other president has ever tried to reach out to the student during their classes. What I got from his speech was that school is difficult but you need it to succeed. If you try your hardest you will most likely get what you deserve; a diploma and a good career. This speech did change america's view on education because we see that if he can over come obsticals so can america.
